People are fed up with the government, so they want something different, they talk about and think about a better world, a world that is different. You're trying way too hard to see current political agenda here, while the story just depicts people's reaction to their current situation. You do realize that you're acting like Red Thread is "making Socialism look like a utopia" by making people want socialism in a world where the leaders are the complete opposite of it, and things are also very, very bad, right?
